Eco-friendly curtains and lamp.

This eco-friendly curtains is made with the bottom of plastic bottles, the resulting pattern is great. This is the work of UK designer Michele Brand.
When you look closely at the pattern, you see that she uses clothing tag attachers to link the flower pattern together, this way she gets a reliable distance between each flower.

Based on the same principle, Michele brand designs pendant light too:

I realized that it's possible to get an attachment tagging gun for around $20 from Amazon, It makes such project doable now! This is how it looks.

Upcycling zippers

If you used Google today in the US, you might have realized that Google is celebrating Gideon Sundback: the "father of the zipper". It might be crazy but some people recycle old zippers.
Have a look at what I found on Etsy, flowers !

An other furniture upcycled into kids kitchen

Featured on the amazing before-after blog.

You probably remember a previous post featuring some night stands and TV furnitures. This is an other amazing transformation for an entertainment center into kids kitchen. The picture are not great but it gives you a pretty good idea of the great upcycling that has been done!

When Bike chains turn into sculpture

This is the "once in a while" post that shows that upcycling or recycling is compatible with art.

Seo Young Deok is a sculptor who's inspired by the shapes of human body. By choosing to work with bike chains the Korean artist, who graduated from Environmental Sculpture at the University of Seoul, is sending a very clear message about industrialisation and the human condition. He spent one whole year moulding a mile of bike chains, worth over $40 000, into a sculpture of a giant head over 7.5 meters tall.

Happy easter: eggs and egg crates upcycling

The egg lamp made by nosigner.com

Eggs diffuse the light very efficiently, but this lamp won't forgive any mishandling!

Egg crates are not only good to soundproof a room but can also be great to diffuse light. I probably would use a "cold" light to avoid any fire hazard. They look great.

Playing Tetris with old crates, great upcycling!

From Chum Lee

When it's nicely arranged, it looks really good, on a porch or even inside!
I'll have to find a bunch of crates and try something like that.

Upcycling shipping pallet into...... The Moon Crib

My new baby came February 1st, and I wish I had this awesome idea... Making him a moon crib with recycled shipping pallets!

This great idea comes from the designer Emilie from Creme Anglaise and her furniture maker-husband Jocelyn Costis. This crib is perfectly safe, it has been sanded and varnished with baby approved chemicals. It makes a very soft crib. It takes 12 days to make it and 3 weeks waiting list.
It's probably a pretty heavy crib and your baby will feel safe inside. My only concern is the price of this upcycled furniture...... 990 euros... I think that I would prefere to give it a try before buying this great concept.

Upcycling a bread box into charging station

This one would look great in my kitchen. I'll just have to find a piece of white material such as thin MDF board or just white cardboard to hide the wires.

Soda box chair

This chair was sold $325 at auction...Upcycling becomes expensive, or maybe is it just because of the old trendy boxes used for this project?

Upcycling skateboard wheels

I'll call that more repurposing since the wheels are new, but this project could be done with old wheels too. The astro clock looks closely inspired from the Nelson ball clock featured here. I love the Nelson clock... I like the multicolored wheels on this one.

Upcycling cans into lamps

These hanging lamps would look nice over a kitchen counter top. These one are sold by a company, but making them should not be too difficult if you find the right electric cord.

Nice detail, on the ceiling, a tuna can will give a nice finish to the project.

You can match the color you want with your kitchen too!

Upcycling inner tube into all sorts of things

I wish I could be good at sewing but for now I admire what people can do with pieces of inner tubes put together. On the other side, the jewelry do not need any sewing gift, but they are pieces of art that require a lot of patience. Most of the prjects presented in this post are commercially available and no tutorial, but I thought it's worth mention that upcycling is more and more used and accepted.
Bags:
There are tons of upcycled bags on lne, this is the one that  like the most, trendy and/or original.
To make bags, inner tubes are perfect for several reasons. First, they develop a finish over time that gives them the soft feeling of a fine Italian leather. Second, they’re 100% waterproof and virtually stain proof, so you can keep your stuff dry without worry any time of year.
